Mastermind 1ON1 Review – Can You Learn to Earn From a Mastermind?

homepage screenshot

The longer you are on the internet and trying to earn a living online the more you are going to be confronted by products that can help you do that. There just seems to be a never ending supply of people touting products that can help you. This is a product from Richard Butler that costs $27 just to watch 9 hours of interviews from the self professed masterminds of the internet marketing world.

What is Mastermind 1ON1?

I wouldn't waste your time or money on this poorly put together skpe collaboration, that looks like it was assembled by a couple kids in a basement. You don't need to listen to people being interviewed and having to pay for the privilege, to make money on the internet. That's all this is, 9 hours of watching video interviews of so called marketing legends. Legends like:

  • Alex Jeffreys - in 10 years form dead broke to owning one of the fastest growing companies in North America.
  • Eric Stafford - how walking away from 3 successful businesses helped him and how he did it.
  • Reed Floren - he'll share the secrets of how he's never worked a job but earns money on the internet.
  • Felicia Slattery - from college professor to speaker self help motivator.
  • Stuart Tan - leading professional trainer from Asia.
  • Mark Lyford - from jail to survivor to go-getter. How he keeps going.

Plus a few more interviews and a $47 upsell on a five week live action training course called The Fast Action Product Method. The package also comes with a $27 downsell titled Fast Action Planner Guides that does NOT include any webinars or coaching.

Why are they legends? and who is calling them that. No, they are not legends. Warren Buffet is a legend. Jack Bogle is a legend. Legends are made and built over a lifetime of achievement. The word legend as it applies to these people is a total misnomer and so is the word mastermind. Do any of these names come to mind when you want to define the word legend? That's what I thought. Big fat NO!

Pros and Cons

Even though $27 isn't a whole lot of money, you are not getting a whole lot of value back either. What you are getting is some guy interviewing some people. These are nice chats that they charge you for listening to.

How is that really valuable to your online success? It's not. I have no idea why anyone would want to pay for the privilege of just listening to interviews. Google anyone of the experts you truly want to follow or admire and you will receive a ton of information for free.

There are so many podcasts posted online for free either on youtube or through iTunes for a fraction of the cost Richard Butler is charging you. Why not do that and save your money? Only the promoters and affiliate marketers are making the money here.

Making Money Tip!

You don't need to bug your family and friends and worry about who is going to buy your products and services. Forget about words like MLM, Pyramids, Masterminds, Binary Options, FX Trading and 'Get Rich Quick' schemes. Let's just stop all the confusion and admit that none of that works and nearly all of what you hear and read online is bullshit. Watching videos of so called legends won't cut it either. Can MM 1ON1 Help You Make Money?

This is 9 interviews, lasting 9 hours, compiled over a 9 week period. It's all audio and video exclaiming how these people have found success in business. The so called Masterminds.

If you are motivated to implement what people are saying rather than show you what and how to do it, then you might like this. This product was designed as a professional gimmick to market for affiliates to sell to they're email lists. That's what it is for. Do you really want to sit through testimonials of people making money from past ventures? Does this and will this contribute to your online success?

Have You Tried It?

Due to the outright ridiculousness of this product I never ended up buying it because I can listen to all the testimonials online for free from any self help guru and internet marketer I want. Why isn't Pat Flynn, Neil Patel, Gary Vaynerchuck or Tim Ferris interviewed here? They are all recognized as pioneers of the make money passively and make money online niches.

If you are actually interested in an online learning experience that will teach you how to build a successful business online then you owe it to yourself to check out Wealthy Affiliate. Instead of just watching people talk, you can follow a proven step by step training method and learn how to make money from your own website.

Have you purchased this product yet? I would love to hear of your experience with it. If you have any further questions, comments or feedback just drop them in the box below. Thanks for stopping by and reading my opinion only review of Mastermind 1ON1 by Richard Butler.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for sharing about Mastermind 1on1, it is a good and straightforward review that is very informational!

I honestly would not pay for 9 hours of recordings, especially when YouTube is readily available. My only plus of Mastermind 1on1 perhaps would be the fact that the creators took the time to compile all of these things and put them in one spot.

Thanks again for the review, appreciate it!

    • Peter

Hi Merrell, like I sais in my opinion, all that is true. You, have to decide if $27 is worth 9 hours of video/audio interviews. Just like all things in life, people will say yes and some will say no. I would say it offers poor value.

  2. Alex

Thanks for the review on Mastermind.

Personally I don’t think it’s worth my 27$, after what you have said in your review. Also, I’m pretty sure you could find the same kind of information for free on the internet. This is just another classic example of a scam trying to sell worthless information.

    Definitely going to avoid it!

    • Peter

Hi Alex, it’s not a scam and it’s not worthless. I just said that it is poor value for the money. Buyer beware and know what you are paying up for and who it is that is out front promoting and selling the product.

  3. Andrei

    This sounds insane Peter!

For someone to actually charge you that much money just to listen to an interview. Do they show something that you can put in practice? Like a guide or something similar? Or they are just tell you the big picture of how they got there?

    • It is mostly just a set of Q&A on what it takes to be successful in business and their story of what they went through to be successful. Go buy a Tony Robbins book and have it as a reference for life.

  4. Ryan

Wow, the first thing I was thinking as I was reading was why wouldn’t I just go on to google or Youtube and do a search for free interviews from people that actually have a reputation as industry leaders.
Just because they charge you for something doesn’t mean the product is of any value and I think more people should think twice before opening their wallets for these scams.
Are there any other names you can suggest I look up? I’m always eager to learn.

    • Peter

Hi Ryan, I just listed 4 for you but most have podcasts like Tim Ferris. Matter of fact all the op names in the MMO niche have podcasts. Thanks for dropping by:)

A very thorough and fair review of Mastermind but i have to say there really is no comparison, Wealthy Affiliate is a far better bang for your buck and use of time…nine hours in WA and you have a pretty good start to our very own live business…with a wealth of certainty, support and knowledge to draw on 24 hours a day!
Do I sound a little biased? lol…I am…Your website looks great…best wishes to your success

    Hi Peter,

Looks like Mastermind is one to avoid. I’ve been learning online marketing with Wealthy Affiliate and I have to say its been a fun ride so far. They don’t have unnecessary interviews with people, instead they offer plenty of courses with action steps that are getting me results, without the hassle of facing upsells.

Thanks for providing a comparison. A lot of people might be disappointed by what Mastermind is offering!

  7. Brandon Cox

Peter, awesome review! I’m always looking for opportunities and love to know, up front, if something is worth it or not. I think there has to be more to it than just videos and talking. I can get that anywhere. I agree with your assessment about the real best way to make money online. I hope others find this page and act on it!

  8. Tammy

This was very informative. I like to see reviews of other programs that talk about making money online before I buy it. There is nothing I hate more than wasting my money.

  9. Hi Peter, this is a great overview of the Mastermind 1ON1 program.

I have seen this pop up a couple of times and never really bothered to look at it in a deep way. I always thought, yeah one day I will take a look and see what’s there.

I won’t bother now because It sounds like a total waste of cash and time to me.

I see a few commenters mention the Wealthy Affiliate program, which after reading a bit more sounds like it could have some really good things going on.

  10. Hi Peter,
    Thanks for your review.
I agree with what you said. I wouldn’t say it’s a scam. However, it’s probably not worth your money. After all, everyone would like to sell you what they have. However, you need to make a decision if it’s worth it. The reviews like yours help people get more helpful information before making their final decisions.

  11. Hi Peter,
William L. here I stopped by your website to review it and leave you a comment. I found your article on Mastermind 1ON1 very informative. There are a lot of programs out there that are guilty of these type practices. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I have found exactly what I have been searching for in Wealthy Affiliate and I just love it. I Pray that your journeys are both financially rewarding and enjoyable.

  12. Hi Peter,

Great review. Thanks for the heads up about this company, so I don’t waste my money on it. I like how you compared Wealthy Affiliate and MM 1on1 together side by side. I agree that WA is the best there is out there for learning internet marketing. There is more training than I will ever get to in my lifetime available to WA members.

    • I hope you do get to all the training Jeannie. It is an awful lot, that’s what makes them the best with thousands of members joining every year.

  13. Janice

    Hi Peter,

I am just curious as to who will spend 9 hours to watching interview videos.

Thank you for your review and of reminding us there are a lot of scam products out there that we are going to confront.

We should make good use of Google and Youtube, there is a lot of information and help in there that is FREE.

    Thanks again for your review.

  14. Penelope

Hi, thanks for the detailed review of this “product”. I tend to agree with you, why pay $27 to watch a bunch of people congratulate each other? From what you’ve described it’s not like 9 hours of instruction, correct? Maybe this product succeeds because at the end of the day so many people want to be in the “big shot” club and maybe seeing something like this makes them feel closer to it…just a thought.

    • Peter

Hi Penelope, a lot of people are just buying it to promote it and make money. It represents poor value. Watch any of Tim Ferris’ podcasts for free. He has a long running list of industry experts sharing their insights.

  15. KhanyaKea93

    Hi Peter

I must say that I agree mastermind 1on1 doesn’t sound like a really great product, as it offers only 9 hours of videos for $27…is that some kind of a joke?

There are a lot of courses out there that I have personally reviewed, and I know from my own experiences that $27 for only 9 hours of videos! sounds to me like someone is trying to pull a fast one.

    • Peter

Yes. It’s a great promotional product for affiliates. Doesn’t provide much value for learning how to build a business.

  16. Arta

    Hi Peter

You have done a great job reviewing Mastermind 1on1 and making people aware of what they can and can’t get through this program.

I guess for some it would be much better for them to read success stories on Wealthy Affiliate. There is much more than that there. Besides, it is possible to have 1on1 chat within WA with people succeeding online.

    • Peter

Thanks Arta and yes you can. To me, live chat is worth the price of admission alone at Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks for stopping by:)
